The 2025 Paralympic Swimming World Series: International Excellence in the Pool at Lignano Sabbiadoro

This afternoon marked the conclusion of the seventh edition of the Paralympic Swimming World Series, an international event that for four days turned the Olympic pool at the Bella Italia & Efa Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro into the heart of global Paralympic swimming.

Craig Nicholson, head of Para Swimming, praised the event’s organization: “The local organizing committee has done an excellent job, creating an extremely positive environment for the athletes, who were able to compete under the best possible conditions.”

With athletes from 39 nations in attendance, the World Series remains a key event for global Paralympic swimming. From the very first day of competition, the level of performance was exceptionally high, delivering excitement and new records. The Lignano leg was the second stop of the 2025 World Series, following the opening in Australia. The circuit will now continue in Spain, where a delegation of Italian athletes will also participate. In addition to the competition for medals, the World Series serve as a crucial opportunity for technical and athletic growth, providing the world’s best Paralympic swimmers with a vital test ahead of the World Championships in Singapore, scheduled for September.

Daniele Zotti, president of the local organizing committee, expressed great satisfaction: “The growth of the event and the international participation demonstrate that the organization is functioning well and that the location is ideal. We are proud to host athletes from around the world and offer them a facility that resembles a true Olympic village. I thank the volunteers and sponsors for their valuable support.”

The World Series in Lignano concludes with enthusiasm and great satisfaction, passing the baton to the upcoming events of the international circuit.

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the support of sponsors DANIELI, ABOCA, ARENA, SUPERABILE INAIL, AVIS, FRIULBRAU, CENTRO UFFICIO, BELLAITALIA, GUIDOSIMPLEX, and GUARDAMEDICAL, along with numerous volunteers.
